VOBS, our summer jobs program, has begun! On March 27, we began our 8-week training program. The training program is for students ages 10-17 to learn about writing resumes, filling out job applications, and several other important skills for having a job. The youth will work for two weeks during the summer if they successfully complete the 8-week training and a job interview. We hope to hire 60 students this summer. Those who are 10-13 will work from June 16-27, and ages 14-17 will work from July 7-18.
Well, so far we are having a great 2nd half of the school year at Lester Elementary and Middle, Brewster Elementary, and East High Schools! Here's what some of our youth are saying about Eikon...
"Basketball is the greatest game ever! I like going to Mr. Chris' house and getting him up for games early Saturday mornings...Our team learned we all have a reason for being here, and the team is like a body and we all have to do our part." --Carlos, 5th grade
